Iowa Stormboar revealed yesterday that Nick "carbs" Carbonetto has been signed as their new head coach. The former Villainous coach steps into the position after Caedon "MAD" Zube departed from the squad on July 10th.
The coaching appointment arrives during the final stages of Iowa Stormboar's roster reconstruction. The organization recently brought back William "aelor" Africano and Anthony "ayaneuu" Scheuer to their active lineup, while also adding Noah "false" Richardson to the mix.
This marks carbs' third coaching engagement in 2026. His year began with Outfit 49 in January, though that project fell apart when the team disbanded in early April. He then spent two months working with the mouse/Villainous squad before parting ways in late June due to conflicting visions regarding the team's future direction.
Currently positioned 13th in the North American VRS rankings, Iowa Stormboar aims to improve their standing under new leadership. The roster will get their opportunity to showcase their potential when ESL Challenger League resumes competition in August.
The updated Iowa Stormboar lineup features Ty "TyRa" Aron, Brett "Scorchyy" Coolen, William "aelor" Africano, Anthony "ayaneuu" Scheuer, and Noah "false" Richardson on trial. Justin "jsfeltner" Feltner remains on the inactive roster. The team currently has no scheduled matches after withdrawing from ESEA Advanced Season 58.
