HEROIC have finalized the acquisition of Spanish AWPer Antonio "MartinezSa" Martinez, officially confirming earlier reports from this week.
The 25-year-old marksman arrives from Gentle Mates, a French organization currently seeking to divest from Counter-Strike by exploring sale options for their entire competitive squad during the transfer period.
MartinezSa steps into the shoes of Simon "yxngstxr" Boije, who voluntarily departed the active lineup following a six-month stint as an emergency AWPer. Boije had assumed the sniping duties after Alimzhan "Alkaren" Bitimbay encountered visa complications that prevented him from competing.
This transfer represents a significant career milestone for MartinezSa, as it's his inaugural experience competing within an English-speaking organization. Throughout his professional journey, he exclusively represented Spanish-language teams including Movistar Riders, 9z, and most recently Gentle Mates.
HEROIC's restructuring continues as they remain one player short of a complete five-man lineup. Yasin "xfl0ud" Koç currently sits on the bench amid speculation regarding a potential swap deal involving FUT's Laurențiu "lauNX" Țârlea, though these rumors remain unverified.
