G2 have confirmed the acquisition of Ukrainian AWPer Artem "r1nkle" Moroz from Ninjas in Pyjamas, filling the spot left vacant after Álvaro "SunPayus" García was moved to the bench.
Moroz joined NiP from B8 in April 2024, replacing fellow Ukrainian Daniil "headtr1ck" Valitov. While he demonstrated glimpses of promise during his initial eighteen months with the Swedish squad, his performance declined significantly in early 2026. Against top-50 teams, he managed only a 1.02 rating, contributing to NiP's failure to qualify for the IEM Cologne Major. This disappointing stretch prompted the organization to seek alternative options for the AWP position.
NiP subsequently brought in Martin "stavn" Lund, who took over primary AWP duties for the team.
G2 are counting on the experience of Nemanja "huNter-" Kovač and head coach Eetu "sAw" Saha to unlock r1nkle's full capabilities and transform him into a consistent impact player.
According to reports from earlier this month, G2 decided against promoting academy AWPer Klimentii "kl1m" Krivosheev, despite widespread recognition of the Russian talent as one of the scene's brightest prospects. Krivosheev spent the previous ten months on loan with MIBR, who continue negotiations with G2 regarding a permanent transfer.
The revamped G2 roster will debut at BLAST Bounty Season 2 starting July 21, followed by the $2 million Esports World Cup in Paris this August.
