Following the announcement of benching Spanish sniper Álvaro 'SunPayus' García, G2 Esports have revealed their new addition: Artem 'r1nkle' Moroz, who was sitting on the Ninjas in Pyjamas bench. This roster change follows G2's quarterfinal elimination at the IEM Cologne Major, where they lost a tight 1-2 series against Spirit.
The 21-year-old r1nkle had been inactive since mid-April when Martin 'stavn' Lund took his place in the NIP starting lineup.
SunPayus became part of G2 nearly a year ago in July 2025, joining alongside rifler Matúš 'MATYS' Šimko and coach Eetu 'sAw' Saha. Despite showing flashes of skill, the 27-year-old struggled with consistency throughout his tenure. His LAN statistics over the past three months showed a 1.06 rating—decent but unremarkable. He shared the bottom rating spot with 30-year-old IGL huNter- during this stretch.
As for the incoming player, r1nkle posted respectable numbers during his active time with NIP, maintaining a 1.07 LAN rating—second only to Kacper 'xKacpersky' Gabara on his squad.
The community has questioned whether this signing represents real improvement, pointing to similar statistics and r1nkle's recent inactivity. Some fans wondered why G2 didn't pursue former academy member Klimentii 'kl1m' Krivosheev, who has been thriving with MIBR.
Nevertheless, r1nkle's youth and potential growth at 21 years old could prove valuable. He will make his G2 debut at BLAST Bounty Season 2 on July 21st.
