FUT advance past LVG as Starry's heroics fall short

August 29, 20262 min read

Lynn Vision have been sent packing from another premier tournament following a 2-1 series loss to FUT, with star player Lizhi "Starry" Ye unable to carry his squad despite posting 105 ADR across the match.

The Chinese roster showed flashes of potential, securing a 13-10 victory on Dust2 where both Starry and Sike "z4KR" Zhang demonstrated their offensive capabilities. However, the rest of the lineup failed to step up, with no other player managing to achieve a rating above 1.00 for the series.

On Anubis, FUT displayed why they're considered a top-ten contender, delivering a commanding performance that highlighted the skill gap between the two squads. Ancient started similarly one-sided before Starry sparked a comeback attempt, but when pressure mounted, the European side proved their superior discipline and tactical execution.

A critical stretch at 7-11 down revealed LVG's shortcomings: despite winning 14 out of 18 opening engagements, poor repeek decisions and losing subsequent trade fights meant only four of those advantageous 5v4 situations converted to 5v3. FUT's Dmytro "dem0n" Myroshnychenko matched Starry's mechanical prowess while his teammates capitalized on LVG's mistakes in retake scenarios.

This marks another disappointing exit for Lynn Vision, whose sole best-of-three victory against international opposition at a significant event this year remains their June triumph over Ninjas in Pyjamas. FUT now move forward to face Inner Circle for a spot in the group's lower bracket final.
