FURIA advance to TWC final with dominant 2-0 victory over Aurora

Defending champions FURIA have successfully booked their place in the Thunderpick World Championship final following a commanding 2-0 series win against Aurora. The Brazilian-majority squad claimed victory on Dust2 with a 13-8 scoreline and sealed the deal on Inferno 13-10.

This matchup served as a rematch from their previous encounter at ESL Pro League, where Aurora emerged victorious. However, FURIA came prepared with adjusted strategies in the veto phase and displayed improved form, successfully reversing the outcome and extending their impressive tournament performance.

Throughout the series, FURIA demonstrated superior gameplay, particularly excelling in economically disadvantaged rounds. Their individual skill proved to be a decisive factor against Aurora's resistance. Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo previously mentioned to HLTV that a single tournament victory can significantly boost team momentum, and with their stellar performance in Malta so far, FURIA appear poised to capture that crucial trophy ahead of the upcoming Major.

On Dust2, Aurora's strong starts on both halves proved insufficient as FURIA regained control once their economy stabilized. Kaike "KSCERATO" Cerato and Mareks "YEKINDAR" Gaļinskis delivered exceptional performances on the CT side with precise positioning, maintaining their dominance into the attacking half.

Inferno opened with a force-buy round favoring FURIA's T side, establishing a 4-1 advantage. The teams exchanged rounds with intense A bombsite battles before FURIA exploited Aurora's patterns by shifting focus to B site. YEKINDAR's aggressive entry fragging secured consecutive rounds, and a strategic pivot back to A caught Aurora unprepared, giving FURIA an 8-4 halftime lead.

The second half began with another force-buy confrontation won by FURIA, extending their lead to 10-6. Despite a clutch play from Jimi "Jimpphat" Salo helping Aurora reduce the gap, FURIA ultimately prevailed when Aurora encountered a pistol stack on B site during the critical round, collapsing their comeback attempt and sealing FURIA's series victory.
