FlyQuest has been forced to forfeit their grand final match in the IEM Beijing 2026 qualifier against TYLOO due to severe internet connectivity issues caused by physical damage to an undersea cable.
The damage to the connection between Australia and Singapore resulted in ping exceeding 200ms, making competitive play impossible. According to FlyQuest's official statement on X, the issue is impacting all internet traffic flowing from Australia to Asia.
With TYLOO scheduled to attend FISSURE Playground 3 next week, no alternative dates were available to reschedule the crucial grand final match. The forfeit represents a significant setback for the Australian roster.
The qualification spot for IEM Beijing would have been valuable for FlyQuest's chances of securing an invitation to the PGL Singapore Major in November. Justin "jks" Savage and his teammates currently sit in a precarious position on the invite bubble, holding a spot just above fellow Australian team THUNDER dOWNUNDER.
FlyQuest's next opportunity to compete at an international LAN event will come through the PGL Masters Bucharest Oceania Closed Qualifier. Should they succeed there, the team will advance to the Asia Closed Qualifier, where they'll face representatives from West and East Asia for a spot at PGL Masters Bucharest.
