FaZe have clinched their place in the semi-finals of BLAST Bounty Season 2 following a thrilling 2-1 series win against The MongolZ. The victory marks their second semi-final appearance since bringing Jason "JBOEN" Boe Nielsen into the lineup.
The series saw FaZe triumph on Nuke with a 16-12 scoreline and Ancient at 13-8, while dropping Mirage 7-13. The standout moment came on Nuke, where The MongolZ held a commanding 12-3 advantage before FaZe orchestrated an extraordinary turnaround, stringing together 13 consecutive rounds to force overtime.
The opening map showcased contrasting CT performances. The MongolZ's Zolbayar "tikuak" Chimedtseren, Dugarsuren "DarkMeister" Ireedui, and Usukhbayar "910" Banzragch dominated the first half. However, FaZe's Jakub "jcobbb" Pietruszewski, JBOEN, and David "frozen" Čerňanský took control after the break. In overtime, FaZe executed a flawless 3-0 CT side, with Ryan "Neityu" Aubry delivering a crucial clutch to seal the map.
The MongolZ responded emphatically on Mirage, with Garidmagnai "bLitz" Byambasuren and tikuak leading a dominant T-side that built a 9-3 lead. Despite a late push from FaZe, The MongolZ closed out the map convincingly.
Ancient proved straightforward for FaZe. JBOEN delivered critical plays in disadvantageous situations during the offense, helping establish a 9-3 halftime lead. Though The MongolZ won a second-round force-buy and created some pressure with their aggressive tempo, JBOEN's multi-kill rounds stabilized FaZe's defense and secured the series victory. The Danish AWPer topped the scoreboard throughout the series, proving instrumental on the deciding map.
