FaZe's journey at BLAST Bounty Season 2 came to a crushing end as they fell to the world's number one team, Spirit, missing the grand final by a margin of only two rounds.
On Dust2, Spirit's pick, the defense proved overwhelming. Dmitriy "sh1ro" Sokolov dominated the second half with an exceptional 9-1 performance. Boris "magixx" Vorobyev was the standout player across the board, leading in eliminations, damage output, and assists beyond his AWP work. Surprisingly, Danil "donk" Kryshkovets struggled through the opening half, finishing with a modest 1.09 rating.
FaZe found their footing on Cache, their map selection, and nearly forced the series level. A decisive six-round defensive run shattered Spirit's momentum and prevented a quick 2-0 finish. Ryan "Neityu" Aubry delivered a spectacular Deagle triple kill, though David "frozen" Čerňanský topped the scoreboard statistically.
The decider on Anubis started brilliantly for FaZe with a 6-1 advantage, but Spirit clawed back to make it 7-5 at halftime. The final round of the half came down to a razor-thin 0.019-second margin. Jason "JBOEN" Boe Nielsen's ace in Round 15 extended FaZe's lead to 10-5, seemingly putting them in control. However, Spirit mounted a fierce comeback on their attacking side, leveling the score at 10-10. FaZe couldn't secure the two additional rounds needed to force overtime, ending their tournament run.
FaZe will now turn their attention to EWC, scheduled to kick off on August 12th.
