FaZe Clan Signs JBOEN on Loan to Fill broky's AWP Role

July 7, 20261 min read

FaZe Clan have officially confirmed the signing of Jason "JBOEN" Boe Nielsen from BIG Academy as their new AWPer. The 20-year-old Dane joins on loan through the end of 2026, stepping in for Helvijs "broky" Saukants who was recently moved to the bench.

The Danish sharpshooter brings impressive statistics from tier-two competition, posting a 1.19 rating across 95 maps played in 2026. Before joining BIG Academy, JBOEN developed his skills as part of Astralis Talent's roster.

While speculation pointed toward Gentlemates' Antonio "MartinezSa" Martinez as a potential target, FaZe ultimately opted for the more affordable option in JBOEN. The Spanish AWPer's transfer fee likely proved too steep for the organization's budget.

The primary concern surrounding this acquisition centers on JBOEN's limited exposure to elite competition. Throughout his entire career, the young prospect has faced Top 50 opponents on just five occasions out of 392 total maps, managing only a 0.93 rating in those matchups.

This represents a significant gamble for FaZe, who are betting on JBOEN's raw talent and potential rather than proven performance against top-tier opposition. The loan arrangement provides some flexibility, allowing both parties to reassess after the trial period concludes.
