FaZe Clan's campaign at FISSURE Playground 3 in Suzhou has come to a crushing end following a 1-2 defeat against magic in the lower bracket. The loss marks their second straight defeat at the tournament, placing them dead last alongside The MongolZ, BIG, and GamerLegion after initially falling to Alliance in their opener.
The series kicked off on Ancient, magic's map selection, where both squads traded blows to a 6-6 first half. FaZe secured the second pistol and built momentum to establish a 10-6 advantage. However, magic clawed their way back to 11-11 and denied FaZe's match point attempt, forcing overtime. In the extra rounds, FaZe couldn't hold their two-round cushion, ultimately dropping the map 14-16.
Dust2 saw FaZe dominate both pistol rounds and cruise to an 8-4 first half lead. magic mounted a comeback sparked by a Glock ace from Nikita "tenzy" Kochenyuk, but David "frozen" Čerňanský and his teammates held firm to close out the map 13-10, leveling the series.
The decisive third map, Cache, proved to be a marathon despite FaZe's historical strength on it. After a disastrous 0-6 start, they scraped together six rounds between halves. magic reached 12-10 match point, but FaZe forced overtime once again. The teams exchanged rounds deep into the second overtime period before magic sealed their victory 19-16. Russel "Twistzz" Van Dulken's heroic 35 frags on Cache and 72 across the series weren't enough to save FaZe from elimination.
FaZe will look to regroup ahead of Stake Ranked Episode 4 scheduled for October.
