FACEIT has published its second Seasonal Integrity Report, covering enforcement actions taken during Season 8, which spanned from late April through early August. The report provides detailed statistics on platform violations and the resulting consequences for affected players.
During this period, the platform removed 109,232 accounts for various violations including cheating, smurfing, ban evasion, poor sportsmanship, and platform abuse. The enforcement actions triggered a substantial restoration of rating points: FACEIT returned 71.9 million ELO to approximately 1.2 million players who had competed in matches with rule-breakers. The platform clarified that ELO restoration applied only to a violator's most recent 100 matches played within a 90-day window.
The data revealed a surprising pattern in violation types. While many community members perceive cheating as Counter-Strike's primary issue, smurfing actually dominated the statistics. Account bans for smurfing represented approximately 56% of all enforcement actions, yet this category accounted for an overwhelming 96% of restored ELO points.
Beyond the raw numbers, FACEIT outlined several platform improvements. The report highlighted their partnership with Google engineers to enhance anti-cheat capabilities, introduced updated ban policies for Season 9, and announced the implementation of their Human Input Detection system. These measures reflect the platform's ongoing commitment to maintaining competitive integrity across all skill levels.
