FACEIT has officially confirmed Vertigo's addition to the Season 9 matchmaking map pool following a decisive community vote. The skyscraper-themed map dominated the poll with an impressive 97,000 votes, leaving its competitors far behind.
Train emerged as the runner-up with 64,000 votes, making it the only map to pose any real challenge to Vertigo's dominance. Overpass claimed third place with 49,000 votes, while community-created maps Fachwerk and Boulder trailed with 11,000 and 10,000 votes respectively.
The result comes as little surprise to seasoned players, as Vertigo has maintained strong popularity thanks to its accessibility and straightforward gameplay mechanics. The map had been absent from FACEIT's rotation since January 2025, when Train replaced it in the Active Duty map pool.
Vertigo is scheduled to launch on August 5th, marking a notable milestone as the second non-Active Duty map to feature in FACEIT's rotation. This decision follows the platform's previous experiment with Cache, which was offered as an optional map during the community's excitement surrounding its return to the game.
The move demonstrates FACEIT's commitment to listening to player preferences and keeping the competitive experience fresh beyond the standard Active Duty offerings.
