FACEIT has taken decisive action against unfair play by banning thousands of accounts used for smurfing and multi-account abuse. The platform announced that 12,478 accounts have been removed from its service in a sweeping enforcement operation.
The crackdown has resulted in the restoration of 20 million ELO points to 544,098 affected players who had their rankings impacted by these dishonest accounts. FACEIT stated that the ELO restoration process will be completed within 24 to 48 hours.
The platform has implemented new automated detection systems to identify smurfs and account sharing violations. These enhanced methods will run continuously, marking a significant upgrade in FACEIT's ability to maintain competitive integrity.
Players can access the complete ban list through FACEIT's official channels, with the list being updated in batches over the coming days. The timing of this ban wave is particularly significant as FACEIT Season 9 is scheduled to launch on August 5th. All restored ELO will be factored into players' starting rankings for the new season, giving affected competitors a fair foundation as they begin fresh competition.
