The Esports World Cup is set to shake up the Counter-Strike scene in Paris, bringing a substantial $2 million prize pool to the table—a significant jump from last year's $1.25 million.
The competition kicks off with an Open Qualifier featuring 64 teams divided into 16 GSL-style groups. All matches follow a best-of-three format, with the top two teams from each group moving forward to a 32-team single-elimination bracket. Only the top four teams from this gauntlet will secure their spots in the main event.
The main event itself will showcase 32 teams total. Twenty-seven have received invites through the VRS system, Lynn Vision earned their place by winning ACL, and four teams will fight through the Open Qualifier. The format shifts to a double-elimination group stage, starting with best-of-one matches before transitioning to best-of-threes, culminating in a best-of-five grand final. A third-place match will also take place, offering additional prize money and VRS points.
The group stage begins on August 12. First-day matchups for the Open Qualifier have been released, with the full tournament schedule available online.
Prize distribution is top-heavy, with the champions taking home $600,000 plus 1000 Club Championship points. Second place earns $340,000 and 750 CC points, while third receives $190,000 and 500 CC points. An MVP award worth $25,000 adds extra incentive for individual excellence.

Fantasy players can compete for skin prizes including a Paracord Knife Damascus Steel and AK-47 Phantom Disruptor through the HLTV Fantasy game in partnership with Hellcase.
