The Elusive Counter-Strike 2 roster has been hit with a significant blow, dropping to just three active players after the exits of Nyas "sayN" Sederquist and Merigo "Msaia" Saia. The departures also cost the team their valuable VRS core status.
The duo's exit comes barely a month after Elusive was originally established. The team was specifically built around the VRS core that sayN, Msaia, and Austin "Austin" Meadows brought from the former NuTorious lineup, making this loss particularly impactful for the organization.
Despite the setback, the remaining members have committed to finding two replacement players and grinding their way back up through the VRS ladder system from the beginning.
During their brief existence, Elusive managed some notable achievements. They qualified for the ESEA Advanced Season 58 playoffs with an 8-6 record in regular season play. The squad also competed in ESL Challenger League Season 51's opening cup, defeating both Shimmer and NuTorious before withdrawing due to multiple roster members attending FRAG. However, they ultimately had to forfeit their Advanced playoffs spot following the roster changes.
According to Justin "FRIZZY" Gillis speaking with Dust2.us, Msaia's departure stems from a month-long trip to Turkey. The reason for sayN leaving remains unclear, though FRIZZY suspects the two players made their decision as a pair.
The current Elusive lineup consists of Austin "Austin" Meadows, Jonathan "Jonji" Carey, and Justin "FRIZZY" Gillis, with Michael "Maestr0" Bulostin remaining as coach.
