EliGE powers Liquid past G2 in convincing 2-0 sweep to secure BLAST Bounty LAN spot

July 25, 20262 min read

Team Liquid selected G2 Esports as their opponent for the second round of BLAST Bounty 2026 Season 2, following their impressive victory against Vitality. The matchup carried extra storylines, featuring players from opposite sides of the pre-IEM Cologne Major trade that sent Mario "malbsMd" Samoya to Liquid while Guy "NertZ" Iluz joined G2.

The North American squad maintained their exceptional momentum, dismantling the European side in straight maps while restricting G2 to merely eleven rounds across the entire series. Jonathan "EliGE" Jablownowski delivered a masterclass performance, topping the leaderboard and recording six opening eliminations throughout the match.

Liquid opened with Anubis, mirroring their strategy from the Vitality matchup. The NA team established control early, building an 8-4 advantage by halftime through an impressive eight-round winning streak sandwiched between G2's round wins. The second half proved equally dominant, with Liquid surrendering only two rounds to close out the map 13-6.

Despite Liquid being G2's map selection, the European squad found no answers. Liquid's CT-side dominance continued as they built a substantial 9-3 lead at the break. G2 managed just two rounds on their T-side, falling 13-5 and dropping the series without taking a map.

EliGE's fragging prowess stood out remarkably, accumulating 36 eliminations—seven ahead of his closest teammate and twelve more than any G2 player.

Team Liquid advances to the LAN playoffs of BLAST Bounty 2026 Season 2, with quarterfinal action commencing July 30th.
