Twenty-two-year-old Daulet "dako" Ondassynov has made Counter-Strike 2 history by setting a new regulation kill record during a LAN match on Sunday. Playing for Game Point against Total Domination at BRO Cyber League Season 1 in Almaty, the Kazakhstani rifler posted an incredible 40 kills across 24 rounds on Mirage.
The achievement surpasses the previous benchmark of 39 kills set by Alex "poiii" Nyholm Sundgren in September 2024 during an online match versus Zero Tenacity. That performance had broken Danil "donk" Kryshkovets' LAN record of 38 kills from the week before.
Heading into the second half of the third-place decider match with a 23-6 scoreline, dako continued his dominant display as Game Point converted a 6-6 first half into a 12-10 advantage. He came agonizingly close to tying poiii's record at 38 kills during a potential match-closing 2v1 situation, but lost the duel. His teammate also failed to convert, extending the map.
The following round saw dako secure two more eliminations to cement his place in the record books with 40 frags. Despite this historic individual performance, Game Point ultimately fell short, losing the map in overtime and subsequently dropping the decider map to lose the third-place match.
With this feat, dako now holds both the overall CS2 regulation kill record and the LAN-specific record. The top performances in this category include poiii's 39-kill online game, Sindre "Tapewaare" Ellefsen's 38 kills online against Metizport X, poiii's 37 kills on LAN versus AM, and Diego "sacrifice" Camacho's 36 kills in an online match.
