Brazilian esports organization FERJEE has announced another Counter-Strike 2 tournament taking place aboard the NAM Atlântico, marking the second year this unique venue hosts competitive CS2 action. The NAM Atlântico serves as the flagship vessel of the Brazilian navy, functioning as both an airplane and helicopter carrier.
The collegiate tournament features teams competing for a prize pool of approximately 488 dollars. Scheduled to wrap up next week, the competition is integrated into Rio Innovation Week, a broader technology festival celebrating innovation.
This isn't the first time the aircraft carrier has welcomed esports competitors. Last year, the vessel hosted two separate tournaments. The Lótus Challenge 2025 women's tournament saw MIBR Female claim victory, while Imperial triumphed over ODDIK in the Circuito FERJEE 2025, which boasted a substantial 44,000 dollar prize pool.
Hosting a professional esports tournament on a military aircraft carrier presents unique logistical challenges.
