CS2 August 3rd Patch Eliminates Grenade Wall Clipping Exploit

August 4, 20261 min read

Valve has rolled out a Counter-Strike 2 update on August 3rd that fixes a critical gameplay bug allowing grenades to pass through walls and other solid surfaces.

The exploit was particularly problematic on the Nuke map, where players discovered they could toss an HE grenade directly through the ventilation shaft to detonate the double doors from an unintended position. This gave attackers an unfair tactical advantage by bypassing normal gameplay mechanics.

The patch notes confirm the grenade clipping fix alongside several adjustments to the Cache map. The development team has been actively addressing these types of geometry-related issues that can compromise competitive integrity.

This update continues Valve's ongoing efforts to polish Counter-Strike 2's competitive environment by eliminating exploits that could be abused in ranked matches and professional play. Players can now expect grenades to behave consistently with level boundaries across all maps.
