When the match reached the deciding map, LAG struggled with low energy as they tried keeping communications quiet with opponents seated nearby. The team quickly realized this approach was hurting their performance. After deciding to bring back their energy regardless of proximity, their play improved dramatically on the final map.
This marks LAG's first trophy of 2026, a significant achievement for Cryptic who transitioned from his longtime in-game leader role to star positions. He expressed satisfaction with flourishing in these new roles while still contributing strategic input on defensive rounds.
The roster additions of Bwills and SLIGHT came as a package deal from BOSS, filling a gap created by kmrn's college graduation. The integration proved seamless since djay previously played with Bwills on New England Whalers, while Cryptic teamed with SLIGHT on BOSS.
Regarding their opponents, Cryptic praised SportsBetExpert as equally matched competitors with more international experience. However, he believes LAG's hunger gives them an edge. Most of his roster, including Sandman who has never attended a European event, are desperate to compete internationally again.
Looking ahead, LAG faces ECL Cup 2 and continues working on strengthening two weaker maps in their pool while potentially seeking coaching support.
