CROSSFIRE Season 6 Expands to 56 Teams with $10,000 Prize Pool

July 17, 20262 min read

Following the wrap-up of Season 5, CROSSFIRE has revealed plans for their sixth season that marks a significant expansion for the tournament series. The organizers are making a bold move by nearly doubling their event capacity.

For five consecutive seasons, CROSSFIRE maintained a 32-team format. Season 6 breaks this tradition with an impressive 56 available spots for competing teams. Alongside this expansion comes a doubled prize pool, jumping from $5,000 to $10,000, with the champion claiming $6,000.

The competition timeline spans from August 31st through October 11th. A substantial portion of this period will be dedicated to an extensive 32-team double-elimination playoff bracket lasting nearly a month.

The tournament structure places 48 teams in the opening group stage, scheduled between August 31st and September 8th. Groups of four will compete in Round Robin format with all matches played as best-of-three series. The leading two squads from each group advance to playoffs, creating a 24-team contingent. Seeding will be determined by August VRS performance and ESEA League standings.

Eight top-performing teams from August VRS receive direct playoff invitations, completing the 32-team bracket. Playoff matches maintain the best-of-three format, with the grand final extending to best-of-five. Teams advancing through the upper bracket gain a one-map advantage in the finals.

Registration opens next Saturday, July 25th at 08:00 PM. Interested teams should monitor CROSSFIRE's social media channels for the registration form release.
