BC.Game Esports has made a surprising roster move, benching Denis "electroNic" Sharipov and bringing in Australian talent Tyson "asap" Paterson. The change was confirmed on September 22, just 10 weeks after the team added mzinho to their Counter-Strike lineup.
The most significant aspect of this move is the strategic shift in regional classification. By adding asap, BC.Game transitions from Europe to Asia as their home region, dramatically improving their chances to qualify for the Singapore Major 2026. This tactical approach mirrors what Liquid previously did to secure their spot at the Cologne Major.
The decision comes after disappointing recent performances. Despite starting strong with a victory at Elisa BreakOut Series #1, the team struggled in subsequent tournaments. Their poor showing at tier 2 and tier 3 events caused them to drop from 38th to 47th on the VRS leaderboard during September alone, putting their Major qualification dreams at serious risk.
Asap brings solid credentials to the table. Playing with THUNDERdOWNUNDER, he secured multiple tier 2 and tier 3 tournament wins and competed at IEM Cologne Major 2026, where he was among the team's top performers. However, whether he represents an upgrade over electroNic remains questionable.
The revamped roster will face their first test at Stake Pulse Beat III, beginning October 12. Their performance there will give the community a clear picture of what to expect from this iteration of BC.Game for the rest of the season.
