Aurora crush M80 with 2-0 sweep to advance at BLAST Open Porto

August 30, 20262 min read

Aurora secured their spot in the Group A lower bracket final at BLAST Open Porto after dismantling M80 with a convincing 2-0 series victory, ending the American-German team's tournament run.

The action kicked off on Aurora's map selection, Dust2, where they stormed to a commanding 7-0 lead on the T-side before M80 managed to put points on the board. The teams traded rounds afterward, closing the first half at 9-3 in Aurora's favor. Özgür "woxic" Eker dominated with the AWP, helping his squad seal the map with a flawless 4-0 second half for a 13-3 scoreline. The Turkish sniper topped the server with an impressive 2.28 rating.

Inferno proved no different as Aurora maintained their ruthless form. Ismailcan "XANTARES" Dörtkardeş, relatively quiet on the opener, exploded with a spectacular Dual Berettas ace while defending the B bombsite. Aurora rode that momentum to a dominant 10-2 first half.

M80 showed brief signs of life after winning the CT pistol round following the side switch, thanks to Michael "Swisher" Schmid's clutch final-bullet headshot on B. However, any hopes of a comeback were quickly extinguished as Aurora closed out the map in just six additional rounds, finishing 13-5.

With this victory, Aurora advance to face G2 in a do-or-die lower bracket final, where the winner will punch their ticket to the playoffs at Porto's Super Bock Arena.
