North American esports organization ASPYRE has officially announced their comeback to the Counter-Strike 2 competitive scene by signing the roster previously competing under MERC.
The squad became free agents after MERC parted ways with the team this past June, completely withdrawing from CS2 operations. During their time without organizational backing, the roster made significant changes to their lineup and support staff.
Tyler "Ounce" Lumsden joined the team to complete their five-man roster. Additionally, Michelle "Michelle Pain" Pain, who previously coached Vireo.pro, has reunited with some of the players. However, she will take on a different role this time, serving as the team's sports psychologist rather than head coach.
This marks ASPYRE's second attempt at establishing themselves in North American Counter-Strike 2. Their first venture lasted only one month, from July to August 2025, when they hosted the regain roster. That partnership ended when the players chose to operate independently and continue developing their own brand.
The newly-signed ASPYRE squad currently holds a 3-3 record in ESEA Advanced Season 58. They are facing some challenges, having dropped their last two matches against Elation and Wanted Goons.
The complete ASPYRE roster features Andrew "celery" Pylko, "vow", Charles "ChwE" Whitehead, Aaron "aaronsfury" Baldwin, and Tyler "Ounce" Lumsden.
ASPYRE's upcoming match in ESEA Advanced Season 58 is scheduled for August 4th against Pug Palace.
