aliStair Makes Comeback to FlyQuest Roster

FlyQuest has officially welcomed back Alistair "aliStair" Johnston following his benching in late 2024 and subsequent exit from the organization in 2025.

The Australian sharpshooter spent time competing with SemperFi in March before joining THUNDER dOWNUNDER in October. His stint with the latter saw him qualify for the opening stage of the IEM Cologne Major, where ironically, his team fell to the very squad he would later rejoin.

Following aliStair's initial departure, FlyQuest cycled through two AWPers. Romanian talent Iulian "regali" Harjău delivered a solid 1.11 rating throughout his year-long tenure. Portuguese rifler João "story" Vieira then assumed AWPing duties for the first half of 2026, maintaining a 1.10 rating before transitioning back to his homeland to compete with SAW.

During his previous run with FlyQuest, aliStair posted a 1.02 rating. This time, however, his role extends beyond wielding the big green rifle—he's assuming in-game leading responsibilities. This tactical shift liberates Joshua "INS" Potter, who carried both statistical weight and leadership duties since stepping into the IGL position in 2025.

"These players don't need a lot of corrections and direction; they already know how to play the game," aliStair explained in his announcement video. "It's just about finding that consistent level where we're all playing together, and we all see the game in a very similar way."

The revamped lineup debuted with a commanding 2-0 triumph over NEXVOID in the IEM Beijing 2026 Asia Closed Qualifier. FlyQuest's next challenge in the bracket comes against Rare Atom.
