The controversy surrounding 3DMAX's financial obligations emerged shortly after Aurimas Pipiras, previously with Monte and currently benched at Luminosity, revealed that his former organization owed him substantial unpaid amounts.
Bryan Canda, the team's AWPer and in-game leader, shared on social media that the squad has been dealing with external pressures beyond competitive play. He described experiencing a different kind of stress that few can manage consistently, compounded by the demanding CS2 tournament schedule. Canda noted the team felt overwhelmed and struggling, though he stopped short of explicitly confirming payment issues.
Canda also reached out to the community for support, inviting interested parties to contact him as the team prepares for upcoming LAN competitions.
Damien Dufour, the current head coach, stated that payment delays have persisted since he first joined the organization in 2024, contributing to the team's subpar results. He highlighted a vicious cycle where poor performance leads to withheld payments, making it impossible to clear existing debts.
Former coach Pierre Marco provided detailed insight into the salary situation, explaining that while he did receive payments, each one merely covered a month already past due rather than the current period. Despite the ongoing delays, Marco continued working because walking away mid-contract would have meant forfeiting everything immediately.
