100 Thieves managed to escape elimination from the Thunderpick World Championship closed qualifier by securing a decisive victory against Acend.
The American squad delivered a convincing 2-0 performance, spearheaded by experienced player Håvard "rain" Nygaard and rising talent Alex "poiii" Nyholm Sundgren.
The opening map on Dust2 saw an evenly matched first half with neither team gaining a significant edge. However, 100 Thieves completely dominated the second half with an impressive CT-side display. They closed out the map 13-8, with poiii topping the scoreboard at 17 eliminations.
Carrying their momentum forward, 100 Thieves delivered an even more dominant showing on Ancient. The team allowed Acend only two rounds on the entire map, thanks largely to rain's exceptional individual performance. The veteran rifler posted an outstanding 23-5 scoreline, nearly flawless throughout the match.
With this critical win, 100 Thieves advance to face French contenders 3DMAX in tomorrow's Group C deciding match. The clash is scheduled for 10:00 AM, with a coveted playoff spot hanging in the balance for both teams.
