100 Thieves delivered a major upset on the second day of BLAST Bounty Season 2, knocking out Falcons in a thrilling three-map battle that saw them overturn a 3-9 deficit on the deciding Anubis map. William "sirah" Kjærsgaard sealed the victory with a crucial 1v3 clutch that prevented overtime.
The series started strongly for Falcons, who dominated Nuke with Nikola "NiKo" Kovač leading the defensive efforts. However, 100 Thieves responded emphatically on Dust2, where Alex "poiii" Nyholm Sundgren put on a stellar performance. Håvard "rain" Nygaard contributed multiple key kills while Nicolai "device" Reedtz secured three important clutches. Finn "karrigan" Andersen's squad managed only seven rounds total, winning both pistols and just one gun round.
The decisive Anubis map looked sealed for Falcons as Ilya "m0NESY" Osipov dominated the first half with a 2.21 rating, building a 9-3 lead. But after switching sides, 100 Thieves' new in-game leader Jack "Gizmy" von Spreckelsen orchestrated an almost perfect terrorist side. His team rattled off eight consecutive rounds to reach match point before sirah's clutch secured the upset, despite karrigan's back-to-back triple kills.
Rain praised the victory in his post-match interview, specifically highlighting Gizmy's leadership and drawing comparisons to his veteran teammate karrigan's calling approach.
Elsewhere on day two, FaZe defeated EYEBALLERS, who played with stand-in Simon "yxngstxr" Boije replacing Max "maxster" Jansson. G2 reverse-swept Nemiga despite a challenging debut from Artem "r1nkle" Moroz, while HOTU became the tournament's first successful Bounty Hunters by eliminating GamerLegion.
