100 Thieves' Major hopes take hit after double defeat at Stake Pulse Beat III

100 Thieves endured a difficult day at Stake Pulse Beat III, suffering consecutive defeats that significantly damaged their Major qualification prospects.

The team's tournament run began with a semifinal clash against MIBR, where they were swept 0-2. On Nuke, MIBR's map selection, the Brazilians established early control with a 4-0 start. Though 100 Thieves recovered to lead 7-5 at the break, MIBR dominated the second half, conceding just one round to close out 13-8. The Europeans couldn't turn things around on Mirage either, despite holding another 7-5 halftime advantage. MIBR's strong attacking performance sealed the map 13-10, eliminating 100T from grand finals contention.

Dropping to the third-place match, 100 Thieves squared off against HEROIC in a more competitive series. They secured Dust2 convincingly with a perfect 8-0 defensive half after trailing 5-7, winning 13-7. HEROIC responded on Inferno, battling back from a pistol round loss after halftime to claim the map 13-9 and force a decider.

Ancient proved decisive, with HEROIC controlling proceedings throughout. A seven-round streak gave them an 8-4 halftime lead, and 100 Thieves couldn't find answers in the second half, falling 13-4 to lose the series 2-1.

According to HLTV calculations, these losses drop 100 Thieves' Major qualification chances to just 45%. Their next opportunity comes at FiRe LAST CHANCE in Argentina on October 29th, where a tournament victory would boost their odds to 92%. Any lesser result leaves them with a maximum 56% chance of reaching the Major.
