The MongolZ have made significant roster adjustments after a challenging period, welcoming back Anarbileg "cobrazera" Uuganbayar and adding experienced player Yesuntumur "nin9" Gantulga to their Counter-Strike 2 lineup.
Just months ago, the Mongolian squad dominated the VRS global rankings and stood as a formidable force at international tournaments. They led Asia to the grand finals at Austin Major 2025, secured an EWC championship, and proved capable of challenging top-tier teams like Team Vitality.
However, their trajectory shifted dramatically when Senzu was benched. The team began sliding from their top-four position, struggling to secure playoff spots and sometimes missing them completely. Their performance at the second Major of 2025 disappointed fans accustomed to their peak form.
The situation worsened in 2026, with only a third-place finish at PGL Bucharest standing out as a positive result. At Cologne Major 2026, they failed to reach the Playoffs for the first time after three consecutive Major playoff appearances.
In response, management brought in tikuak and darkmeister to replace cobrazera and mzinho, but this restructuring fell short of expectations. Currently, the team risks losing their top position on the Asia VRS leaderboard to TYLOO.
Now, as a crucial move to salvage their season, the organization is reversing course. cobrazera returns after previously showing solid performance during his tenure. nin9 brings valuable experience, having worn the MongolZ jersey back in 2018 alongside current coach maaRaa. His leadership skills as an in-game leader should provide much-needed guidance to the young roster.
The revamped lineup will make their debut at 1win Private Club#2 before competing at PGL Masters Bucharest later this month.
