G2 Esports captain Nemanja "huNter-" Kovač opened up about the team's ongoing integration of AWPer Artem "r1nkle" Moroz, emphasizing a balanced approach between accommodating the new player and maintaining the squad's established foundation.
The team brought in r1nkle expecting explosive aggression and unpredictability, but his numbers have been modest so far. With a 43% survival rate and just 0.57 kills per round, the Ukrainian hasn't yet delivered the statistical impact many anticipated. Despite this, huNter- remains confident in his teammate's mechanical prowess.
"We cannot change everything to make r1nkle comfortable fully," huNter- explained. "But we are trying to implement his things and to listen to him." The captain stressed that finding the right balance between r1nkle's preferences and G2's existing system is crucial, especially since the team performed well with previous AWPer SunPayus.
HuNter- outlined the patience required for AWPers on certain maps, particularly Ancient and Inferno, where aggressive peeks are heavily anticipated. He emphasized that r1nkle needs to excel in clutch situations and remain composed even when playing a supportive role. "In the first one minute of the round, if he doesn't do anything, if he's just holding flashes, after that, it can be 4v4, 3v3s where he can be good," huNter- noted, comparing this approach to elite AWPers like m0NESY and ZywOo.
The captain believes r1nkle's breakthrough will come when G2's overall team performance improves. "If you are playing good as a team, that's when he will show up as well and when he will show his best CS," huNter- concluded, expressing full confidence in the Ukrainian's bright future once he regains his confidence through solid individual performances.
