The MongolZ have finalized the acquisition of 28-year-old Yesuntumur "nin9" Gantulga from The Huns, alongside promoting Anarbileg "cobrazera" Uuganbayar back to the active roster after nearly three months as a substitute.
The roster changes come as nin9 and cobrazera step in to replace Zolbayar "tikuak" Chimedtseren and Dugarsuren "DarkMeister" Ireedui, who have both been moved to the bench. The departing duo last competed for The MongolZ at FISSURE Playground 3, where cobrazera had temporarily filled in for Sodbayar "Techno" Munkhbold.
This signing represents nin9's homecoming to The MongolZ, having previously competed for the organization in 2018 when current head coach Erdenedalai "maaRaa" Bayanbat was still an active player. The move also reunites him with Techno and Garidmagnai "bLitz" Byambasuren, his former IHC teammates who made Mongolian esports history in 2022 by becoming the first squad from their nation to reach a Major championship. That roster, coached by maaRaa, exited the Antwerp Challengers Stage with a 1-3 record.
The MongolZ are hoping these roster adjustments will provide stability following a challenging season start. Currently positioned 48th globally, the team risks losing their second-place Asian ranking to BC.Game.
The revamped lineup will make their debut at 1win Private Club Season 2 in Belgrade, a $100,000 LAN competition running from October 19-22, followed by PGL Masters Bucharest from October 24-31.
