Monte have revealed their reconstructed roster with Viktor "sdy" Orudzhev returning to the organization as the centerpiece of their rebuild following the departure of their previous core to Luminosity.
This marks a homecoming for sdy, who previously represented Monte from January 2023 through February 2024, during which the team reached the playoffs at the BLAST.tv Paris Major. Most recently, sdy competed for Passion UA while on loan from ENCE, where he took on in-game leading responsibilities before the Finnish organization shifted focus back to their domestic roots.
The new Monte project will operate under coach Tiaan "T.c" Coertzen's guidance, with Mateusz "mantuu" Wilczewski handling AWP duties. Completing the rifling trio alongside sdy are Cai "CYPHER" Watson, another veteran from the Paris Major playoff run, Alexander "br0" Bro, and Vladyslav "St0m4k" Lykhoshva, a former top 50 prospect.
The restructured squad has already seen competitive action in the Stake Ranked open qualifier, though their debut ended with elimination at the hands of Aurora Young Blud.
This roster overhaul comes during a challenging period for the Ukrainian organization, which recently faced public scrutiny following payment dispute allegations from Aurimas "Bymas" Pipiras. Bymas publicly stated that payment problems were a "recurring issue" and claimed he was owed tens of thousands of dollars. Monte subsequently disputed the claimed amount in an official statement to HLTV.
