Ninjas in Pyjamas have significantly improved their Major qualification prospects after securing an opening victory against Betclic at Stake Pulse Beat III. Martin "stavn" Lund delivered a commanding performance that propelled his team forward in the tournament.
The Danish squad now sits at 73% qualification probability, a substantial upgrade from the 57% they would have faced with a defeat. This result puts them in strong position to secure one of the coveted Major spots.
Stake Pulse Beat III marks the first tier-two competition in the final stretch before invitation cutoffs, offering an $80,000 prize pool and featuring numerous teams fighting for their Major dreams. The lineup includes Envy, Inner Circle, HEROIC, JiJieHao, 100 Thieves, fnatic, BIG, and HOTU, all seeking to boost their qualification odds.
Several established organizations like Astralis, MIBR, Liquid, and BC.Game are also competing, though their Major berths are essentially secured. However, any victories against these teams could provide crucial percentage points for challengers.
The stakes vary dramatically across participating squads. For Ninjas in Pyjamas, claiming first place would push their chances to 97%, while finishing last drops them to 48%. Inner Circle faces even more dramatic swings, with first place reaching 99% but last place plummeting to just 26%.
HEROIC would virtually lock in their spot with a tournament win, though even a last-place finish leaves them at 71%. Envy faces the most precarious situation, where victory brings 77% odds but defeat crashes them down to merely 16%.
With the November 2 cutoff date rapidly approaching, teams across multiple regions have just three weeks remaining to cement their positions. Numerous LAN events scheduled throughout late October will determine the final participants heading to Counter-Strike's premier competition in Singapore.
