The lineup for FRAG University has undergone significant changes with less than two weeks remaining before the tournament begins on October 9th. Several teams have recently confirmed their participation while the highest-ranked squad initially registered has pulled out.
SportsBetExpert confirmed their attendance two days ago, with Brazilian organizations DENDELE and Imperial following suit the next day. Without a Roof will also compete at the event, according to sources. However, M80 withdrew shortly after purchasing their entry ticket when registration opened, despite being the top-ranked team scheduled to attend.
Following M80's third-place result at iBUYPOWER Masters FML, AWPer Fritz "slaxz-" Dietrich spoke with Payton "LTP" Tolbert about the team's future plans. He suggested that their recent performance means they likely won't need to participate in additional LANs to secure Major qualification. Current simulations from VRS specialists "MischiefCS2" and Jesper "Udknud" Larsen place M80's Major qualification chances above 95 percent.
For SportsBetExpert, FRAG University represents one of multiple LANs they've added to their calendar to improve their Major qualification prospects. Their schedule also includes Journey Autumn in Sweden, FiReSPORTS Last Chance in Argentina, and the Austin LAN in Illinois.
Without a Roof confirmed their participation despite facing extremely slim Major qualification odds. The relatively new squad, fresh off winning the ESEA Season 58 NA Finals, views this as an opportunity to maintain momentum and continue developing.
Imperial captured the FERJEE In House Season 2 title over paiN last weekend, substantially improving their Major qualification chances. DENDELE arrives after reaching the semifinals at iBUYPOWER Masters FML in Las Vegas, where they finished fourth.
FRAG University takes place October 9th at Syracuse University in New York, featuring a $25,000 prize pool.
