FaZe Clan has been knocked out of Stake Ranked Episode 4 after falling to Astralis in a hard-fought 1-2 series, finishing the Barcelona event in 7-8th position. The loss significantly impacts their standing in the global VRS rankings, plummeting from 18th place at tournament start to 24th, leaving their PGL Major Singapore qualification chances hanging by a thread at below fifty percent.
The opening map of Ancient appeared firmly in FaZe's grasp as they stormed to a commanding 9-3 first-half advantage and pushed to 11 rounds early in their terrorist side. However, Astralis mounted an incredible comeback, stringing together ten consecutive rounds to snatch victory from what looked like certain defeat. Jason "JBOEN" Nielsen exemplified the momentum swing—after opening with a clutch 1v3 and posting a stellar 2.24 rating on defense, he collapsed to a dismal 0.47 rating on offense.
FaZe responded on Nuke, racing to four straight rounds before Astralis answered with eight of their own. FaZe managed additional spurts in the second half to force overtime, ultimately securing a narrow 13-11 victory to keep their tournament hopes alive. Astralis in-game leader Rasmus "HooXi" Nielsen's impressive 20-kill performance went to waste.
Cache served as the decisive battleground. FaZe, who were among the first teams to embrace the map upon its return to the active pool, struggled to find their rhythm. Astralis built an 8-4 first-half lead that proved insurmountable. Despite JBOEN's 1v2 clutch giving FaZe their ninth round, it would be their last—Astralis closed out the map 13-9 to seal the series.
FaZe will look to rebound at Roman Imperium Cup IX next week.
