The CROSSFIRE Season 6 tournament has concluded with Without a Roof emerging as champions after an intense grand final against Marsborne. The match saw WaR overcome a one-map disadvantage to secure a 3-2 victory in a grueling series that stretched close to four and a half hours.
This triumph marks WaR's second consecutive tournament win, following their recent victory over SportsBetExpert at ESEA Season 58 NA Finals. The team has now accumulated an impressive $23,500 in prize money over the past four weeks, with $6,000 coming from this latest championship.
Entering the final from the lower bracket, WaR started down one map but fought back on their Dust2 pick. After trading rounds throughout regulation, they dominated overtime to take the map 16-12. They continued their momentum on Marsborne's Inferno pick, closing it out 13-10 to move within one map of victory.
The series shifted dramatically on Mirage, WaR's second pick. Despite holding match point at 11-8, they couldn't close it out in regulation. Marsborne's Chance "WUMBO" Boyer delivered a stellar performance with 26 kills and a 1.68 rating, helping his team win 16-14 in overtime to force a fourth map.
On the final map, Ancient, WaR regained control. After jumping to an 8-1 lead on their CT-side, they weathered a Marsborne comeback that saw the score flip to 10-8. WaR stayed composed and won five straight rounds to clinch the map 13-10 and secure the championship.
Bulgarian AWPer Tsvetelin "CeRq" Dimitrov was the standout performer for WaR, finishing with 80 kills including 43 with the AWP, 20 multikill rounds, and 83.2 average damage per round. The victory propelled WaR up 20 spots in the VRS rankings, and they'll look to continue their hot streak at FRAG University starting tomorrow.
