Mikkel "MistR" Thomsen has officially departed from Sashi following a mutual agreement between both parties. The Danish player expressed relief at being able to "step away from this crazy situation and focus on what's next."
The departure comes in the wake of significant controversy after Sashi benched both MistR and Casper "Cabbi" Jensen. The organization brought in Australian players Tynan "TjP" Purtell and Jordan "Hatz" Bajic on short-term deals in an attempt to relocate to the Asia VRS region, hoping for an easier path to qualify for PGL Major Singapore.
However, Valve quickly responded to what many viewed as a cynical exploitation of the rules. Just one day after Sashi's move, Valve updated the Major Supplemental Rulebook to prevent such region swaps, effectively disqualifying Sashi from Major contention.
In his statement on X, MistR thanked the organization and his former teammates. "Thank you to Sashi and especially to my coaches and teammates," he wrote. "The past few days have been hard and it hurts to see what's happening."
According to reports from Turkish source Arhaval, MistR is set to join BBL, the organization that entered Counter-Strike back in August by acquiring the Echo roster.
