Dennis "sycrone" Nielsen expressed immense pride in his team's mental fortitude following their hard-fought victory over Spirit at Spodek Arena. The deciding map on Nuke tested MOUZ's resolve as Spirit won retake after retake, but the squad refused to buckle under pressure.
"Everybody has witnessed MOUZ fall apart in these situations countless times," Nielsen admitted in his post-match conversation with HLTV. "This time we pulled through and earned our place in the grand final. Now it's our responsibility to ensure we don't waste this opportunity."
The coach singled out Dorian "xertioN" Berman's leadership as a crucial factor in the 13-11 triumph. Despite post-plant situations not converting, xertioN maintained his confidence and continued making decisive calls immediately after spawning. Nielsen emphasized how the skipper's steady direction pushed the team forward when it mattered most.
Lotan "Spinx" Giladi demonstrated bravery by repeatedly taking ramp timings rather than playing passively, while Oldřich "PR" Nový delivered an outstanding performance throughout the match. This collective effort prevented the collapse that has plagued MOUZ in previous high-stakes moments.
Nielsen used a basketball analogy to describe their approach: missing an open three-pointer doesn't mean you stop taking good shots. xertioN kept executing plays from their playbook with minor adjustments based on Spirit's reads, resulting in a productive terrorist side.
Regarding their success against donk, who registered yet another below-average performance, Nielsen explained their strategy of disrupting Spirit's default setups and timing plays. By forcing opponents out of their comfort zone while leveraging MOUZ's own strengths, they've found a winning formula in this matchup.
Looking ahead to Vitality in the final, Nielsen remained optimistic about their transformed roster's chances to rewrite their 2025 narrative.
