Following a disappointing group stage performance, Spirit returned to form in spectacular fashion at the Spodek arena, securing their semi-final berth with a convincing 2-0 victory against Falcons. The Russian squad triumphed 13-8 on Mirage and 13-10 on Anubis, powered by exceptional performances from Andrey "tN1R" Tatarinovich and Danil "donk" Kryshkovets.
This victory sets up an intriguing rematch against MOUZ, the team that previously defeated Spirit 2-0 during Pro League pool play, before Spirit suffered another setback against 1win. The Russian side will be hungry for redemption after rediscovering their championship form.
Spirit entered Mirage with a tactical masterclass, exploiting Falcons' habit of leaving Window and Jungle areas unguarded during mid-rounds. tN1R was absolutely dominant, posting a staggering 2.06 rating while capitalizing on these defensive gaps. He secured an early 1v2 clutch before delivering an ace just three rounds later, completely dismantling Falcons' defense.
Falcons struggled miserably against Spirit's preparation, managing only their second first-half round thanks to a miraculous AWP ace from Ilya "m0NESY" Osipov, despite winning the opening pistol. tN1R and Dmitry "sh1ro" Sokolov twisted the knife further with a 2v4 clutch to close the half, and Spirit rode a pistol victory after the switch to reach map point quickly. Though Falcons mounted a late resistance, the 3-12 deficit proved insurmountable.
Carrying momentum into Anubis with another pistol win, Spirit jumped ahead 3-0 before Maksim "kyousuke" Lukin's 1v2 clutch saved Falcons from disaster. Multiple kills from kyousuke and m0NESY, plus a crucial triple from Finn "karrigan" Andersen in a 3v5 situation, brought Falcons level.
However, donk completely took control. After playing a supporting role on Mirage, the Russian prodigy exploded with an incredible AK-47 ace that shattered Falcons' momentum. He added another triple before halftime for a slim lead, then delivered a devastating MP7 triple during a force-buy to break Falcons' spirit.
While Boris "magixx" Vorobiev contributed solid numbers, donk continuously stole the spotlight with highlight-reel plays, including another clinical three-kill to push Spirit to match point. Despite clutch efforts from Nikola "NiKo" Kovač and karrigan delaying the inevitable, Falcons faced too steep a comeback, allowing Spirit to close out the series convincingly.
