Astralis are reportedly considering former Team Liquid in-game leader Kamil "siuhy" Szkaradek as an immediate replacement for current IGL Rasmus "HooXi" Nielsen, according to HLTV's Luís Mira. This move comes as the Danish organization faces urgent roster decisions with multiple player contracts set to expire.
The situation has become pressing for Astralis as HooXi and Victor "Staehr" Staehr's contracts run out at year's end, while Jakob "jabbi" Nygaard's deal expires even sooner at the end of November. Contract talks with the Danish trio have reportedly stalled, forcing the organization to explore alternatives while attempting to preserve their recent competitive momentum.
Despite a rough start to the season, Astralis have demonstrated strong form recently, securing victory at Stake Ranked Episode 4 and finishing top-four at Stake Pulse Beat II. These results have nearly guaranteed their spot at the PGL Singapore Major, making roster stability crucial for the organization.
The potential signing of siuhy represents an interesting gamble. The Polish IGL struggled during his time with Liquid, posting a 0.87 rating across 185 maps while facing criticism about his leadership abilities. However, entering free agency this week, siuhy could view Astralis as an opportunity for redemption, similar to how players like Mareks "YEKINDAR" Gaļinskis successfully revitalized their careers after difficult stints.
If the move materializes, Astralis' projected lineup would feature Staehr, Love "phzy" Smidebrant, Gytis "ryu" Glušauskas, siuhy, and coach Filip "NEO" Kubski.
