Yesuntumur "nin9" Gantulga from The Huns has become the leading candidate to complete The MongolZ's roster, according to reports from multiple sources. The 28-year-old rifler could be announced by the reigning EWC champions in the coming days, joining Anarbileg "cobrazera" Uuganbayar who is returning from the inactive roster.
Recent scheduling changes hint at the impending move, as nin9 was notably absent from The Huns' ESN Fall Showdown fixture against 1337 on Wednesday and will skip Thursday's match versus 5star.
The MongolZ have operated with only three active players since mid-September, when Zolbayar "tikuak" Chimedtseren and Dugarsuren "DarkMeister" Ireedui were sidelined after a brief two-month stint. tikuak subsequently left the organization two weeks later to rejoin Chinggis Warriors.
cobrazera's comeback has been anticipated for weeks, with the 21-year-old already seeing action at FISSURE Playground 3 as a stand-in for Sodbayar "Techno" Munkhbold.
The search for the fifth player took considerable time, with nin9 competing against Maks "laxiee" Andryei and academy prospect Bayarbat "M4k" Tugs-Erdene during tryouts.
This wouldn't be nin9's first tenure with the organization, having previously represented The MongolZ from May through August 2018 alongside current coach Erdenedalai "maaRaa" Bayanbat. Notably, nin9, Techno, Garidmagnai "bLitz" Byambasuren and coach maaRaa were instrumental members of the IHC squad that achieved a historic milestone in 2022 as Mongolia's first team to reach a Major tournament.
