Just months following the public dispute with their previous lineup, Ukrainian esports organization Monte has officially revealed their new Counter-Strike 2 roster. The revamped squad features former NRG rifler Alexander "br0" Bro and brings in Tiaan "T.c" Coertzen as head coach, who previously worked with Complexity and Passion UA.
The announcement comes after Luminosity Gaming revealed on July 1st that they had signed the former Monte core lineup, excluding in-game leader Jack "Gizmy" von Spreckelsen. Prior to that move, Aurimas "Bymas" Pipiras publicly claimed Monte owed him significant amounts of money, including his portion of the Major team sticker revenue. The current status of that financial dispute remains unclear.
Coach T.c had been without a team since June following the dissolution of Passion UA, an organization also suspected of financial issues with players and staff. There were reports linking the South African coach to Team Liquid alongside in-game leader Johnny "JT" Theodosiou, but that potential partnership never materialized.
Veteran player Viktor "sdy" Orudzhev rejoins Monte after a brief stint as a stand-in for Passion UA while on loan from ENCE. Taking over for Azbayar "Senzu" Munkhbold under T.c's coaching, sdy struggled to find his form across three matches with Passion UA, posting a disappointing 0.84 rating.
The roster also includes British player Cai "CYPHER" Watson, who has endured a difficult period since his short time with TSM. This signing represents an opportunity for both Monte and their new members to prove themselves once again.
The complete Monte roster consists of sdy, Vladyslav "St0m4k" Lykhoshva, br0, CYPHER, Mateusz "mantuu" Wilczewski, with T.c serving as head coach.
