The ESL Challenger League Season 52 Cup 3 is heading toward its conclusion, and the grand final matchup is now set. Following yesterday's semifinal action, either Overtake Sector or Chicken Coop will claim the $8,000 prize and secure their place in the Season 52 North America Finals.
Overtake Sector earned their finals berth with a commanding 2-0 sweep over Zomblers. The opening map on Dust2 appeared competitive at first, with Zomblers holding a narrow 7-5 advantage at halftime and winning both pistol rounds. However, Overtake Sector's terrorist side proved unstoppable in the second half. Recently reinstated AWPer Umar Qaiser was the driving force behind the comeback, posting an impressive 23 eliminations and a 1.54 rating as his team closed out the map 13-8.
The dominance continued on Mirage, where Overtake Sector once again found their rhythm after switching sides. Their defensive half was particularly impressive, stringing together seven consecutive round victories to seal a 13-6 map win. Umar maintained his stellar form, leading all players with 20 eliminations and an even more impressive 1.69 rating.
The stage is now set for tonight's grand final showdown between Overtake Sector and Chicken Coop, where $8,000 and a coveted spot in the North America Finals hang in the balance.
