Metizport has officially brought Liam "MaiL09" Tügel back into their active roster, filling the spot left by Isak "isak" Fahlén, who recently chose to take time away from professional competition.
The Swedish prodigy made his return to Metizport in June following an impressive six-month stint with Alliance. During his loan period, Alliance tried hard to keep him, presenting what they described as their biggest trade proposal ever to secure the 17-year-old on a permanent basis. However, negotiations with Metizport didn't result in a deal.
MaiL09 had been moved to the bench by Metizport at the close of 2025 due to difficulties in identifying the right position for him within the squad. His performance at Alliance proved his worth, posting a strong 1.19 rating. Alliance came remarkably close to Major qualification, missing out on the IEM Cologne Major by just 10 Valve points.
The Norwegian organization stated that MaiL09 will assume a different role this time around, with significant structural adjustments already underway to properly accommodate him and maximize his impact.
Sports director Morten "zEVES" Vollan Christensen expressed enthusiasm about the roster move, noting the team has progressed through a transitional phase and is now positioned to unlock MaiL09's complete capabilities. He emphasized the player brings crucial match-winning potential aligned with their ambitious goals for the coming season.
Metizport's revamped lineup will debut at Stake Pulse Beat I, a $60,000 Stockholm tournament featuring prominent squads including Liquid, fnatic, Johnny Speeds, and Betclic.
