M80 have kept their ESL Pro League Season 24 hopes alive with a hard-fought victory over Legacy, bringing their record to 2-2 and putting them just one win away from playoff qualification at the Spodek.
The North American squad opened strong on Cache, jumping to a 4-0 start and never allowing Legacy to close the gap beyond three rounds. M80 dominated the opening map with a decisive 13-4 scoreline to take the early series lead.
Legacy, competing without their in-game leader Andrei "arT" Piovezan, fought back on their Mirage selection. After M80 built a 7-5 halftime advantage on the CT side, the Brazilian squad flipped the script in the second half. They allowed just two rounds and stormed to a 13-8 victory, evening the series at one map apiece.
The decider came down to Dust2, where M80 claimed the CT pistol and converted for a 2-0 start. Legacy responded with four straight rounds to grab a 4-2 lead, but failed to capitalize on a crucial round against M80's eco buy. That momentum shift proved pivotal as the North Americans surged to an 8-4 halftime lead.
Legacy won the second-half pistol and conversion to make it 8-6, but M80's offensive firepower proved overwhelming. The North American side closed out the map 13-6, with German IGL Elias "s1n" Stein leading the charge with 21 kills on Dust2.
M80 now enter the 2-2 elimination bracket, where one more best-of-three victory will secure their spot in the ESL Pro League Season 24 playoffs.
