LAG staged an impressive comeback against Villainous, overturning an initial map loss to claim the series 2-1. Meanwhile, Without a Roof demonstrated dominance over Iowa Stormboar with a clean 2-0 sweep. Both victorious squads still face a challenging road ahead, requiring three additional lower-bracket victories to reach the grand final.
In the LAG versus Villainous matchup, Villainous secured the opening map Anubis 13-10 after LAG jumped to an early 4-0 advantage. However, LAG bounced back on Ancient with an even more explosive start, claiming eight of nine initial rounds and eventually closing it out 13-8.
The decisive third map on Inferno saw LAG take an early 4-0 lead before Villainous fought back to edge ahead 7-5. After securing the pistol round, LAG delivered a flawless CT-side performance, winning the map 13-7 to eliminate their opponents.
Without a Roof's series proved more straightforward. They crushed Iowa Stormboar on Dust2, building a massive 10-2 half and finishing 13-2. Though Stormboar showed more resilience on Mirage, leading 7-5 at halftime, Without a Roof rallied with seven consecutive rounds to secure match point before closing 13-9.
The tournament continues Thursday, October 1st at 08:00 PM with the upper bracket final between Marsborne and Overtake Sector, alongside lower bracket semifinals featuring regain against LAG and Olympus versus Without a Roof.
