Jimi "Jimpphat" Salo recently sat down for an extensive discussion on the natun ja Robun CS Podcast, following his announced transfer to Aurora. The 50-minute conversation covered his departure from MOUZ and what lies ahead in his career.
The young rifler reflected positively on his tenure with MOUZ, though confusion remains about the circumstances of his benching. He expressed that while his experience was largely positive, the timing of being sidelined mid-season felt questionable, especially since it prevented him from competing at the Major. The decision continues to puzzle him, as he would have preferred to keep playing.
According to Jimpphat, coach Dennis "sycrone" Nielsen informed him of the benching decision during IEM Rio, announcing that both he and Brollan were being moved to the sidelines. He noted that he never received any indication about potentially playing at the Major. The coach had reportedly chosen Brollan for the Major based on role compatibility, yet Jimpphat observed during the tournament that Brollan occupied many of the same positions he had played, leaving him questioning the reasoning behind the roster move.
Regarding his contract situation, Jimpphat revealed he signed only a one-year extension with MOUZ in early 2025, explaining he already had intentions of exploring opportunities elsewhere. He expressed gratitude that the organization accommodated his preference for a shorter deal rather than pushing for a longer commitment.
A potential transfer to Falcons was discussed but never materialized, as MOUZ wasn't prepared to negotiate his release at that time. After being benched in April 2026, Jimpphat has now joined Aurora's international project. He's optimistic about the roster, praising the quality of his new teammates while acknowledging he needs time to adjust to a completely different environment and system after his extended period with MOUZ.
