FaZe has secured their spot in the upper final of Roman Imperium Cup IX following a hard-fought 2-0 triumph over PURE. The victory places them just one series away from reaching the tournament's grand final, where only NAVI Junior stands between them and a championship appearance.
The opening map, Ancient, was selected by PURE and saw them claim both pistol rounds. However, FaZe demonstrated superior resilience as the map progressed, finishing each half with dominant performances. A crucial six-round winning streak, highlighted by a spectacular four-kill round from Jakub "jcobbb" Pietruszewski, sealed the first map in FaZe's favor.
Mirage proved to be a significantly more competitive affair. PURE stormed to a commanding 9-3 lead at halftime, stringing together nine consecutive rounds. FaZe responded with their own impressive nine-round streak on the CT side, bringing themselves to match point. PURE refused to go quietly, forcing overtime thanks to a vital three-kill performance by Zahar "Polbandana" Siledchyk in the 23rd round.
The overtime periods were intensely contested, but FaZe ultimately emerged victorious with a 16-14 scoreline to complete the sweep. Pietruszewski was the standout performer on the deciding map, finishing with an impressive 31 eliminations in what proved to be a thrilling conclusion to the series.
